Megan's Green Drake

Fish the Green Drake pattern during cloudier days on quieter, slower moving runs of water. When cloudier conditions are present, the newly hatched Green Drake dun sits for longer period of time while riding the surface, letting its wings completely dry out before taking its maiden flight. It's also best to know when the emergence from nymphal to dun stage has taken place and fish this pattern a few days later. Keep an eye on the rise form of the trout, a bulge and a dorsal fin means it may still be taking nymphs underneath the surface. A suck or sip means he is keyed in on the duns. A tricky hatch to master, but the Green Drake dun fly pattern will surely increase your success during the height of the hatch.
