What are the Best Fishing Sunglasses?

For instance, polycarbonate lenses are less expensive and weigh less, but they also scratch easier than their glass counterpart. As for lightwave glass lenses, they are scratch-resistant, provide the best clarity in materials, and are 20% thinner and 22% lighter than the industry average. A disadvantage to glass is that they can crack when dropped hard enough on a big rock.

Regardless of glass or polycarbonate, Costa’s 580 lenses enhance colors by blocking harsh yellow light at 580nm on the visible light spectrum while boosting the amounts of red, green, and blues. This delivers higher contrast and creates a sharpened image. Oh yeah, these lenses also block 100% UV light while absorbing HEV light. Which if you haven’t caught on yet, UV and HEV light are bad for your eyes. In fact, they have been known to cause macular degeneration, pterygium, cataracts, and other eye diseases.
